National Farm to School Month is in October, and students from a local school system are getting a firsthand look at where their food comes from.
Bowling Green Independent Schools students from preschool through fifth grade will tour the Need More Acres farm in Scottsville this week.
T.C. Cherry pupils arrived on Monday.
This week, a different school will come each day.
Before visiting food stores or cafeterias, students will get a firsthand look at how crops are farmed.
Students were given their own food kits and lettuce plants
Due to the fact that some of the youngsters will likely not move outside of the bowling green during their younger years, district officials believe the program will be successful.NEWSZENITH NEWS.
