On Tuesday, Indiana State Police retrieved a vehicle linked to the disappearance of a mother and her two children nearly two decades ago, and their remains were confirmed by the agency.

Stephanie Van Nguyen, 26, and her two children, Kristina Nguyen, four, and John Nguyen, three, went missing in April 2002.

According to authorities, Nguyen left a message stating that she planned to drive into the Ohio River.
Police had long since given up hope of ever finding her or her children, and the case had become silent until this year.

According to Lt. Joe Macaluso, Nguyen’s family discovered the note after she went away and reported her as missing.

This is unusually long for a missing persons case to go unsolved.
The majority of the time, we are able to find folks who have gone missing far earlier than expected.

Because of the approaching 20th anniversary of Nguyen and her children’s disappearance, Macaluso explained, the case was restarted.
Our hearts and minds have always been focused on this case.

Gabby Petito died of a strangled “three to four weeks” before her body was discovered, according to the Wyoming coroner.

After a younger customer’s suicide, Robin hood’s new call centers will provide suicide prevention assistance.

On the 13th of October, divers were called to the river to investigate the appearance of three distinct objects through sonar.
Nguyen and her children were last seen in a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, which was found in Aurora, Indiana, according to the press release.

In the vehicle, anthropologists think they recovered human remains, including a bone, according to an updated report from the Indiana State Police.

Indiana State Police has said that the vehicle was recovered about 300 feet from the riverbank at a depth of more than 50 feet and with a license plate that identified it as Nguyen’s.
